She asked us, "How Do You Create What You Two Have?"

A few weeks ago, Dale and I were having lunch with a young, incredibly talented, very smart, and stunningly beautiful member of my team, and she asked us, "How do you create what you two have?"

Not gonna lie! I was flattered by the question.

I remember being her age (she’s 23), and ALL I really wanted was to find that one amazing Man to share my life with, lean on, go to… and love.

That one great guy who cherished and adored me, made me feel safe, honored, wanted, respected… and completely loved.

But that was NOT the reality I was living way back then, nor would it be for many, many years to come.

So, how did I go from attracting…

Emotionally unavailable, deeply wounded, highly manipulative, selfish, self-centered, jealous, controlling, insecure, often arrogant and entitled, boundaryless, childish, passive-aggressive, angry, dishonest and abusive men on repeat… to…

Creating what Dale and I have?

How did I go from where I was…

To living this incredible life with this incredible Man who actually cherishes and adores me, makes me feel safe… always respected and completely loved… day in and day out… consistently and predictably, without fail… for years now… with no end in sight?

Well, the answer is SO simple you’ll probably get mad at me!

Here it is…

I got right with me!

That’s right!!

First, I stopped doing the dance with emotionally handicapped and unavailable men who could NOT give me what I wanted, needed (and fully deserved) consistently and predictably IF their lives depended on it.

In other words…

I put the “love drug” down and I got to work.

I stopped looking outside for what I wanted and needed and I went within.

Then, I found mentors and coaches, teachers and guides, counselors, sponsors, friends, and therapists who had been where I was and now had what I wanted

I chose people who had lived the problem but more importantly...

Understood the SOLUTION!!

People who had found their way out of the dark and into the light of lasting, happy, healthy love

And I followed their lead.

I rolled up my sleeves, I opened my heart, I DID. THE. WORK.

Eventually, my relationship with ME got SO right that I was able to effortlessly and with ease, manifest and attract the mirror reflection of what I now carry internally
